PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Clear wood protection for the exterior which guards
against plant and animal wood pests like rot, blue stain
and insect attack. Swelling and shrinking is prevented.
Osmo WR Base Coat contains active ingredients which
according to latest research protect against blue stain
(EN 152), rot (EN 113) and wood-destroying insects
(EN 46). Osmo WR Base Coat has a faint odour during
the application and is odourless after drying.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
1.2 % Propiconazole (12 g/kg)
0.05 % Permethrin (0.5 g/kg).

SURFACE PREPARATION
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%).
Osmo WR Base Coat is ready to use, please do not
thin. Stir well before use.
Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints
and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works.

METHODS OF APPLICATION
Apply by brushing, dipping, flooding; spraying only in
an enclosed unit.
Coat the clean, dry and frost-free wood generously – if
possible on all sides.

CLEANING OF TOOLS
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).

DRYING TIME
Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23
°C/50 % rel. humidity). Lower temperatures and/or
higher air humidity can increase the drying time. Allow
for good ventilation while drying.

STORAGE
Up to 5 years and more if can is kept dry and closed
tightly. If thickened by frost, store 24-36 hours at room
temperature before use.

RECOMMENDED USE
Osmo WR Base Coat protects any exterior wood
surfaces which are not under structural loads, dimensionally stable, limited dimensionally stable or dimensionally unstable and without direct contact to the
ground (e.g. windows, roller shutters, doors, pergolas,
trellis, garden furniture, etc.) against insects, rot and
blue stain according to DIN 68800, part 3.

COVERAGE
1 litre covers approx. 5-6 m² with one coat.
Product coverage depends significantly on the character of the wood. All information refers to smooth
and planed/cut surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to
reduced coverage.

NOTE
Osmo WR Base Coat is not a self-priming finish,
instead it is a clear impregnation to protect wood
against rot, blue stain and insect attack.
Compatible with all common types of glue and putty (except silicone products). We recommend galvanized, anti-corrosive fasteners.
To guarantee full protection (against UV rays) and permanent beauty of wood, a top coat (e.g. with One
Coat Only HSPlus, Natural Oil Woodstain, Country
Colour, Opaque White Gloss or UV-Protection-Oil) is
required within three months.
If the coloured surface should have an external surface protection (film protection), we recommend for
non-biocidal wood finishes (One Coat Only HSPlus
and Country Colour) a top coat with UV-Protection-Oil
Extra.*
*Do not coat white finished surfaces with
UV-Protection-Oil Extra.

Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed. May
cause sensitisation by skin contact. Very toxic to
aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Repeated exposure
may cause skin dryness or cracking.

RESTRICTIONS ON USE
Not for use on wood which according to regulations
comes into direct contact with food or animal feed.
Not for use in living spaces or habitable rooms. Do not
use in immediate proximity of any kind of water.

DISPOSAL
Do not release product into water, the ground or sewer systems. Remove accidently released/spilled product with absorbing substances (e.g. sand) and bring
to disposal in an appropriate container.
Bring leftover product and completely emptied cans
to hazardous waste disposal!
